Uganda launch UBC Front Bench to boost digital transformation

UBC Front Bench will offer Ugandans a clear understanding of government operations and promote digital literacy

The Ugandan government has introduced the "UBC Front Bench", a new program to enhance communication with the public and increase government accountability.

The UBC television broadcast covers digital transformation, internet connectivity, job creation, and artificial intelligence policies, reflecting Uganda's commitment to technological advancement and transparent governance.

Launched by the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, this platform allows ministers, permanent secretaries, and key officials from various government departments to engage directly with citizens.

"UBC Front Bench" is part of Uganda's comprehensive Digital Transformation Roadmap, which targets 90% broadband coverage and creates 30,000 ICT-related jobs annually for youth within the next five years. The "UBC Front Bench" marks an important step towards fostering a more informed and engaged citizenry by enabling direct dialogue between government officials and the public.
