Nokia launches innovation center in Morocco

Nokia has announced launching its first innovation center serving the Middle East and Africa in Morocco

Multinational telecommunication company Nokia has launched its Innovation Center in Salé, a city in northwestern Morocco on Tuesday, marking a key expansion of its technological footprint in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region.

The center features a state-of-the-art data center supporting various use cases from 5G mobile backhaul to data center fabric and security, making it the first of its kind in the MEA region.

The facility, inaugurated by Digital Transition Minister Ghita Mezzour, houses Nokia's comprehensive Network Infrastructure portfolio, including Fixed Networks, IP, and Optical Networks. The facility serves as a regional hub for testing, verification, deployment, and training of advanced network solutions across EMEA.

Minister Mezzour emphasized that the center will enhance Morocco's position as a regional digital services hub while developing local talent and supporting the country's 5G readiness initiatives.

The Innovation Center aligns with Digital Morocco 2030 objectives by offering practical training to engineering schools and universities through certification programs like Service Routing Architect and Network Routing Specialist.
