Access Bank secures provisional license in Namibia

Access Holdings Plc has announced that its subsidiary, Access Bank Plc, has obtained a provisional licence from the Bank of Namibia to commence operations in the country

Access Bank has secured a provisional license to establish a commercial bank in Namibia, marking a weighty expansion of its operations in Southern Africa.

With existing operations in Angola, Botswana, Mozambique, South Africa, and Zambia, Access Bank is well-positioned to provide stakeholders with seamless access to various opportunities for expansion and collaboration within the region.

Roosevelt Ogbonna, Managing Director/CEO of Access Bank PLC, emphasised that entering the Namibian market is a pivotal step towards achieving the bank's global growth ambitions. The expansion is expected to boost Namibia's local economy and enhance financial inclusion by empowering businesses and individuals with new opportunities.
